Arts and Crafts - 3º Primaria

In the Arts and Crafts classroom we have been working on two famous Spanish artists: Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. We learnt that they are very different from each other, but they have something in common: their works can be really enigmatic.

En la clase de Arts and Crafts hemos estado trabajando dos famosos artistas españoles: Pablo Picasso y Salvador Dalí. Aprendimos que son muy diferentes, pero tienen algo en común: sus obras pueden ser realmente enigmáticas.

First let's talk about "El Guernica". It was painted by Pablo Picasso, and it is a mural-sized painting which has different shades of gray, black and white. We just used a regular pencil to create these shades and we couldn't imagine how versatile our pencils could be! Check it out:

Primero hablemos de "El Guernica". Fue pintado por Pablo Picasso y es un cuadro de tamaño mural, que tiene diferentes tonos de gris, negro y blanco. Solo utilizamos un lápiz normal para conseguir estos tonos y no podíamos creer lo versátiles que son nuestros lápices. Comprobadlo vosotros mismos:

Now let's focus on Salvador Dalí, who painted "The persistence of memory", also known by "Soft Watches". His moustache caught our attention, so when we worked on this painting in the classroom, we wanted to give it a twist and recreate it in two teams: one would use cool colours and the other warm colours. This is the result:

Ahora centrémonos en Salvador Dalí, que pintó "La persistencia de la memoria", popularmente conocido como "Los relojes blandos". El bigote de Dalí captó toda nuestra atención, así que cuando trabajamos esta obra en clase, quisimos darle un giro y recrearla por equipos: uno utilizaría colores fríos y el otro colores cálidos. Este es el resultado:
